Questions? Here are some answers to our most frequently asked ones:

If we do choose to go forward, what would be the next steps?

If you have decided that you would like to have picturethis at your wedding, the next step is to put down a $200 deposit, which then secures your date. If you think you would like to book us, let us know and we will send you a service agreement contract for you to review along with payment instructions. This deposit is half refundable up to 60 days before the day of the event. Once the deposit is received, our client relations coordinator will be in contact with you to go over event details and legistics.

How do I ensure that people will know how to use the kiosks correctly?

All of our packages include a wedding greeter who sets up and breaks down the units, greets your guests with a smile, and ensures that everything is running smoothly. Our Kiosks are extremely simple to use and the majority of guests will know how to operate them intuitively. Our greeters step in when someone is having difficulty operating the kiosk and/or has questions.

I’m assuming the kiosk photos are taken with the built-in camera of the converted Macs. What is the resolution of that camera? How do you adjust for lighting variations (sunset, evening, etc…)?

We actually use an HD camera that we attach to the top of the touchscreen. It has the same brushed aluminum look of the iMac so it fits nicely. The resolution for these cameras is 1024 x 768. These cameras are specially designed for low-light. Even then, we always bring additional lighting (LEDs) to make sure the pictures are consistent. If there are issues after this, we lighten them up with photoshop for the guestbook. Further, because of the portable nature of our system, we can move the units around very easily to adjust for the variations in lighting. Our employees are trained in proper lighting techniques and always take this into account when setting up.

How do you make sure the right note gets put with the right picture of people?

Ideally, we try to match all the pictures with the written messages immediately at the time of signing. To do this we have the guest enter their name before they take the pictures (about five to ten seconds). After taking the picture they then write a message in the guestbook. Typically, they do this in order so we have a good idea just based on order what images match what signatures. We then go through and make sure the name that was entered for the picture matches up with the name on the message. If there uncertainty after this point (which happens about 5% of the time), then we send you a document that has you match up some of the stragglers. We are working on a matching web app that will facilitate this even further.

The pictures that are used in the background of the sample photo book have what look like photos from the professional photographer. My photographer friends have concerns that that might conflict with usage rights; how do you work around this?

In our service agreement we make sure the client understands that any picture they submit they must have the rights to or permission to use.
