Ramie & Nathan Basher Wedding – Camano Island 7/31/10

Events, Seattle No Comments

What a beautiful wedding!!!

When I first arrived it was a long driveway down towards the house. There in front of the house, was a beautiful garden area with a gift table and archway setup for guest when they arrived.  I got to setup next to the table, and with my new unit everything looked great. As I began to setup, the whole bridal party was in the garden taking pictures with the couple. I think my setting up caused some distractions as I heard whispers of “what’s that?” and “What is he doing?” coming from the group (I am sure my homeless look of shorts and sandels didn’t help)  As I didn’t want to spoil the surprise of the new unit (Which we used for the first time at this wedding) I just continued to setup with a smug smile on my face.

After I finished the setup, I parked my truck, quickly dressed in nice clothes, only to find a line of people waiting to play with the kiosk. Nathan, the groom, was telling everyone what the kiosk was for and what it could do. I was only too happy to show them our stuff     :)

After the initial rush of guest, people slowly trickled in and out of the area to play with our kisok through the night. Wondering the grounds, I came to find at the back of the house a beautiful setup with a tent overshadowing tables with a Grand view of the ocean. The ceremony was beautiful, the buffet was a taco bar that was delicious, and the cake was amazing. Guests were still signing the guestbook and taking pictures up until 8:45pm and the pictures turned out perfect. With this new camera and setup there is almost no perceptible difference between the pictures taken at 6pm.  After last call (4 times lol) I started packing up around 9pm, and thats when it started to sprinkle. I was able to quickly break down the setup before it started raining too much. All in all it was a beautiful day and a wonderful wedding.

Congratulations Nathan & Ramie!!!!

Harger Wedding in Huntington Beach

Events, Orange County No Comments

Ben and Brianna’s wedding took place August 1st at the beautiful SeaCliff Country Club in Huntington Beach. The room was vibrant with beautiful pink flower petals adorning the tables and right from the beginning I could tell it was going to be a special day for all involved. Our Social Kiosk and Wedding Photo Booth was positioned perfectly at the entrance so I was fortunate enough to greet the guests as they arrived for the ceremony. Their faces lit up upon seeing the venue, it was really spectacular, and the remainder of the evening exceeded all expectations. The Photo Booth was a hit with all at the wedding goers, both young and old enjoyed leaving their mark on the event and taking home a photo. In the end it was a beautiful event and you could see and feel the love Ben and Brianna shared on this special day. Nothing says it better than this poem Ben wrote….

We met a few years back
At a teller station
Where I took a crack
At an orientation

We have the same initials
Was my pickup sign
Like it was her daily rituals
She ignored my cheesy line

One day in the bank
Nasreen gave her my card
This wasn’t a prank
As my heart beat hard

She glanced over at me
While she took it
I tried to look nifty
But my smile was crooked

I had an email that weekend
To my surprise
I sat there thinkin’
While eatin’ some fries

If only I could catch
This elusive woman
I’d cook up a batch
Of Mom’s delicious cookin

I’d dazzle her
With quick wit and charm
Clothe her in fur
With animals from a farm

I caught her one day
On a boat in the park
All I had to say
Was I love you with all my heart

She started to cry
As I’ve learned most do
The ring was nigh
But she had no clue

I knelt down on a wobbly knee
And pulled out the box
Will you marry me Bri
Even though I’m wearing these Crocs

She said yes
Was the posting on Facebook
Then came the dress
And the FOB’s sad look

Now the day has come
And friends and family are here
Let’s have some fun
And all drink a beer!

Wedding in Paradise

Events, Hawaii No Comments

Over the Fourth of July weekend, we serviced our first Hawaii destination wedding for Robert Simersen and Tina Dang. We had the privilege of meeting this couple over a year ago at their home in Orange County for a product demo. They’re both macheads and love new gadgets so picturethis was a great fit for their wedding. The reception was held at the Hale Koa hotel in Honolulu.

Here’s their beautiful story:

As many of you already know, we met each other when we both worked at the Marriott Reservation Center in California.

He began working there one week after I started. As time went on, we became friends. I found him very funny and truly a kid at heart! The thing I liked about him was that he was such a friendly, outgoing person and he genuinely was interested in whatever anyone said to him. Because of his wonderfulness, he was quickly promoted as a Trainer, which took him off the phones and took him out of the seat he usually occupied next to me. While I was extremely happy for him, I was at the same time sad. I knew that the job would look very bleak now that he was gone. He always made working less tedious and it always seemed to fly quicker on those days that we shared the same shift. After he began working as a Trainer, to my surprise, he still came to visit me often. Every time he would see me, I would remember that he would have this huge smile on his face like he was excited to see me, which I suppose he was. We began to hang out outside of work. During that time, my manager was bugging me about visiting hotels and doing a scavenger hunt to get to know what I was selling. Not ever having been into a hotel, I was nervous that I would make a fool of myself.

So like she said we were supposed to learn about our hotels. We each got rooms at Los Angeles Marriott downtown and Manhattan Beach Residence Inn. We first stayed at the Downtown L.A. Marriott and went to the movies. The next day we went to Venice Beach and Melrose to do some window shopping. Later that evening we stayed at the Residence Inn where I cooked her dinner for our very first real date. We have now been together for 7 years. You guys know me. I spend, spend, spend. Well she saves, saves, saves. So the saying my better half is true in our relationship. We have 2 little puppies that Tina is crazy about. We take them almost anywhere. She thinks they are babies and cradles them in her arms. It’s our little family. Funny thing is I think she might be allergic to them but doesn’t care and would not think of getting rid of them. That’s one of the reasons I love her so much. She is a tough cookie.

picturethis in Utah

Licensees, Utah No Comments

We are so excited to announce another licensee joining the picturethis family.

Greg has worked in the wedding photography industry for 3 years now alongside his wife McKenzie of Photography by McKenzie. Greg and McKenzie were the first photographers on scene when picturethis debuted in July 2008. As a photographer, he immediately saw how easy it would be to be a photographer and run a picturethis social kiosk at the same time. It was an instant match. As luck had it, and to our surprise, Greg and McKenzie were also the photographers for the second wedding that picturethis serviced! It was meant to be.

Greg has been married for 6 years to the talented McKenzie. They have two children, Ellie and Harrison Danger. Yes… his middle name is Danger. Outside of his love for being outdoors, whether it’s fishing, camping or target shooting, Greg recognizes that there’s nothing more rewarding then spending my time with his family.

Greg will be taking picturethis, with its cutting edge touchscreen wedding photo booth and party favor, to all areas in and around Salt Lake City – Park City, Provo, Utah Valley, Ogden, Logan, Bountiful, etc.

Morris Wedding

Events 1 Comment

On July 10th, Joe Morris and Bridget Smith were married in downtown Philadelphia at the Cescaphe Ballroom. It was a high energy wedding with incredible food in a very cool and hip venue.

Here is Joe and Bridget’s story:

I guess it’s meant to be
Forever you and me,
After All

Bridget and Joe met by coincidence on July 15, 2006, at a vending machine, no joke, in a hotel in Voorhees, New Jersey. Bridget was staying at the hotel with friends after attending a party in the area while Joe was attending a wedding. They randomly struck up a conversation that evening in the hotel lobby and split a bag of Combos. Joe was wise enough to request Bridget’s contact information, and they met for dinner in Hoboken, New Jersey a week or so later. Thereafter, Bridget and Joe fell in love despite being from Philadelphia and North Jersey respectively, and New Jersey Turnpike traffic!

Joe and Bridget currently reside in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. When not working, renovating their home or planning a wedding, Bridget and Joe enjoy spending time with each other, their friends and family, eating a meal out (hamburgers often involved), watching sports, playing with the Smith family dog Casey, and sitting on the beach at the Jersey Shore.

Here’s some of the fun! Pure joy.

picturethis in the Bay Area

Bay Area, Services No Comments

picturethis announces our new licensee in the Bay Area, Paul Tannembaum. Paul was a natural fit for us. He’s worked in the wedding industry as a photographer (back in his Hawaii days), is a technology guru (he moonlights as a web developer in SF), and is overall a great guy to be around.

Paul was first introduced to pictureThis at a wedding in Encinitas, San Diego, where he was a guest. He ended up spending the whole evening by the kiosk, asking a bunch of tech questions and showing it off to other guests. Yeah, we liked him from the beginning, and now he’s our go to guy in the bay. When he’s not working, he’s either in SF’s mission district eating tacos or driving up and down the coast looking for some waves. The picture above is him last summer in Sumatra, Indonesia.

Paul will primarily be taking picturethis, with its cutting edge touchscreen wedding photo booth and party favor, to all areas of the Bay Area – San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, Concord, Sacramento, Silicon Valley, and surrounding areas.

Heizenroth Wedding

Events 1 Comment

The Heizenroth/Yeager Wedding was held in Phoenixville, PA on July 10th in the Phoenixville Foundry. Beautiful wedding, beautiful couple at an incredible venue.

Here is their story:

How we met
They say that good things come to those who wait…..
I will never forget the night I met Anthony. We were both in our last year at Bloomsburg University and looking forward to graduating. We met through mutual friends at Hess’ Bar. Who would have thought I would meet my future husband there! I remember thinking how much fun Anthony was, and he always made me laugh! We spent our last few months before graduating getting to know each other. Soon I realized that he was someone I could spend the rest of my life getting to know. We have been together for four years now, and I always think how lucky I am that I was there that night at Hess’!

The Proposal
One of the happiest days of my life, September 5, 2008, Anthony asked me to marry him!

It was a Friday night and we had decided to spend the night at one of our favorite spots, Strawbridge Lake in Moorestown. I remember my mom and dad used to bring us there to feed the ducks when we were little and I’ve always loved going there. It was one of the places that Anthony and I had gone when we were first dating.

I was running a little late from work but we eventually made it over to New Jersey. It was beautiful out that night and Anthony had packed some food so that we could eat when we got there. We set up the blanket and sat there for a bit while we ate and then just as the sun was starting to set I remember Anthony suggesting we take a walk down by the water. I think I was still babbling on and on with one of my endless stories, when he knelt down on his knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him.…I said YES!

The reception was held at the Phoenixville Foundry, one of the nation’s first iron metal foundries. The history of the town is closely tied with the history of this foundry, and in many ways, mirrors the history of the United States. Phoenixville foundry was one of the first iron and steel foundries in the United States. They started out in the early 1800s making nails and eventually, by mid-century, they were manufacturing iron bridges and structures for use across the country. The Washington Monument is supported by their iron to this day.

The wedding was a blast. Here are some pictures to prove it.
